Living Dangerously

I think that in this days the most dangerous sport is the snowboarding. Now i will explain what is in fact the snowoarding and i will explain the history of the snowboarding.

1. History
The pure arc of a snowboard turn can make riders feel like part of a hundred-year-old tradition. However, most of us have watched snowboarding spring up before our very eyes, and the early origins of this young sport can only be traced back as far as the 1960's.
Sherman Poppen is most often credited with inventing the snowboard in 1965. As the story goes, Poppen fixed two skis together for his daughter to "surf" down the snowy hill outside their Michigan home. Combining the words "snow" and "surf", the new invention became the Snurfer, and went into production the following year.

2. Snowboarding marathon
The record for the longest snowboarding marathon is 180 hr 34 min and was set by Bernhard Mair (Austria) at Bad Kleinkirchheim, Austria from 9 to 16 January 2004.

3. Most Snowboarding World Cup Titles
The most titles (including Olympic titles) won is three, by France's Karine Ruby. She won the giant slalom in 1996, the Olympic title in 1998 and the snowboard cross in 1997.

After this i can conclude that the snowboarding is very dangerous sport and that one day i want to try this modern sport because i want to see what it looks like.

Earth Day

The characteristcis of this pictures are:

1. The same things in this two pictures are that in the first picture and the second picture is represented the planet Earth.

2. The different characteristics are:

- In the first picture there is only a picture of the planet Earth, and in the second picture there are peoples.

-In the first picture there are not any people, and in the second picture there are peoples.

-In the second picture the people are cleaning the planet which is not case with the first picture.

3. I choose the second picture (the right picture),because I think that the planet shall be saved for the future generations.

''Jules Verne (1828-1905), French writer and pioneer of science fiction, whose best known works today are Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea(1870) and Around the World in Eighty Days (1873).
Jules Gabriel Verne was born on February 8, 1828, in Nantes, France. His parents were of a seafaring tradition, a factor which influenced his writings. As a boy, Jules Verne ran off to be a cabin boy on a merchant ship, but he was caught and returned to his parents. In 1847 Jules was sent to study law in Paris. While there, however, his passion for the theatre grew. Later in 1850, Jules Verne's first play was published. His father was outraged when he heard that Jules was not going to continue law, so he discontinued the money he was giving him to pay for his expenses in Paris. This forced Verne to make money by selling his stories.
Jules Verne died in the city of Amines on March 24, 1905.''

Jules Verne become a hero when he wrote the book ''Around the world in 80 days'', in 1873.
The person mayor accomplishment was the book ''Around the World in 80 Days'' and the book ''Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea''. I admire Jules Verne because he does not wanted to listen his father and he does not wanted to stydu law, because he wanted to be writter. From this person life i learned that the parents can not force their children to stydu what they did not like. The books of Jules Verne are very popular around the world and he is world famous.
